 Abstract:  Joseph William Briggs (1813 or 1814-1872) was a United States Post Office employee who served as special agent to the Cleveland, Ohio, branch and traveled throughout the United States to direct the installation of city free delivery service. His daughter Mary Harmony Briggs (1837-1913) was married to Edwin Beard Mastick, Jr. (1844-1918). The collection consists of a patent application, one photograph, and one script.
